Annette Maxberry-Carrara, Wisdom House Books Publisher, is the author of The Morrigan, a novel published in 2006 and republished in 2011 under the Wisdom House Books imprint. She is soon to release her new book, The Portable Book Coach: Getting Your Book Out of Your Head and into the Marketplace.
Annette Maxberry-Carrara's professional credentials and richly varied personal background make her ideally suited to the tasks of publisher and president of Wisdom House Books. She has worked for a leading subsidy publisher as a writer and ghostwriter, written for Michael Holligan's Your New House on the Discovery Channel, taught college-level writing, and worked as a freelance writer for a variety of publications.
A seasoned public speaker, classically trained actress and comedienne, she is also an experienced psychotherapist and an ordained Interfaith minister. Annette was the founding director of OSCAR, The Organization for Cooperation in AIDS Research, and is an esteemed workshop leader, book coach, and teacher of healing visualization techniques, reality-based prosperity consciousness and other growth-related subjects. She is currently volunteering with the City of Austin Hate Crimes Task Force assisting with anti-bullying education in public schools.
Annette has donated her time to work with cancer patients, people with AIDS and to help educate Afghan women, founding the Afghan Women's Education Foundation. She has worked as a political coach, and an instructor of on-air media skills--an area of expertise that invariably proves useful to authors in the marketing of their books.
Having left her home state of Oklahoma while in her early 20s, Annette has called Dallas, Houston, New York, Algiers, Paris, and Aix-en-Provence home as well. After surviving a civil war, rich French food and childbirth, she is now peacefully living in Austin, TX with her French husband, two gorgeous kids, and two frisky, bilingual dogs. Annette's global travels and cross-cultural experiences have enhanced her ability to understand and assist authors of varied interests, backgrounds, practices, and cultures. It brings her tremendous joy to help them all fulfill their dreams of publishing.
