Dear Author,
Congratulations on writing your book!  I know it's no small accomplishment.  It took you hours of hard work, and I imagine a good deal of sacrifice. I know exactly what it takes, because I'm an author myself.

I've had experience with both royalty publishing and subsidy publishing, and I thought both of them were tremendously unfair to writers.  That's why I decided to create a company with the author in mind.

Why can't authors have the best of what royalty and self-publishing offer--the quality design, editing, promotion, and distribution of traditional publishing--while allowing the author to maintain the control and rights of self-publishing? Why can't quality publishing be affordable enough to allow the author a chance to make a profit, and easy enough so that an author can hand off a manuscript to the publisher and know that every detail will be taken care of by someone with expertise?

Those were the questions I asked myself when starting this company, and they are now the standards I set at Wisdom House Books. But I wanted to take it a step further and add the personal touch of really listening to the dreams of each author.  And I wanted to do everything in my power to help make those dreams come true.

It's really kind of a simple idea, but I think it's one that authors will appreciate.

Thanks for popping in to see what Wisdom House Books is all about.  I hope you will give us a call if you have questions. I will personally advise you of your publishing options--even going with another publisher, if that's the best path for you.

I hope to hear from you soon about your publishing dreams. Let's fulfill them together.

Namaste, blessings, and best regards,

Annette Maxberry-Carrara, Publisher

PUBLISHING WORKSHOPS IN
YOUR HOME TOWN

Need a speaker for your next event?  Annette Maxberry-Carrara will be happy to talk to your writer's group about all the new and traditional publishing options, which one is right for each kind of book, and how to save money when publishing on your own.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve this world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us - it's in everyone! And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others!"

--Nelson Mandela - Inaugural Speech 1994

"The trouble with writing a book about yourself is that you can't fool around. If you write about someone else, you can stretch the truth from here to Finland. If you write about yourself the slightest deviation makes you realize instantly that there may be honor among thieves, but you are just a dirty liar."
--Groucho Marx
"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. "
--Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
